I am thankful for…

While it’s true that Thanksgiving is about overindulging in food, it’s also about, well, being thankful.  So, here’s a list of a few things I’m thankful for, in no particular order.

Hearing a sweet little voice say, “I wuv you mommy” everyday.

The privilege of being a mother, a sister, a daughter, a best friend.

Inside jokes with my sister.

A Fall Sunday

I love Fall!  It’s my favorite time of year.  Today was a fantastic Fall day – time together, apple pie, chili, a long walk and fun at the park!   All around lovely, just like our family:

She’s lucky I can’t crawl into her crib, says Hank

Sometimes I feel sorry for Hank.  The poor guy — he ruled the roost until the middle of November last year.  Then, everything changed.  He had to share his toys, his mama’s attention, his snuggle time.  And, now, he’s being intruded on again.  She’s taking over his bed, for Pete’s sake!  Is nothing sacred?

We are family

An early evening swim

Sophia had a little swim party with our neighborhood friend, Kali, last night after work.  And, of course, I got a few photos.
Kali was initially reluctant to get into the “baby pool,” but eventually relented…

Sweet, smilin’ Sophia…

Not sure why she was sticking out her tongue, but it’s cute!

Our friend Tia

Hank’s friend, Tia, hung out at our house for the past several days.  I felt bad for Tia — not only did she miss her mom and brothers, but she also entered the zoo that is our house.  Hank kept trying to chase her (which she scoffed at) and Sophia kept trying to grab her [...]

He might’ve thought I had some more cheese…

Last night I had to bribe Hank with cheese to pose for a photo.  This morning he hopped right up on chair next to Sophia.  Perhaps he thought I had more cheese?!?!  Regardless, this one’s pretty cute!

Harder than I thought to get this picture

Finally, though, I got them in close enough proximity to snap a shot.  (Note that Hank is only paying rapt attention to me because I had the camera in one hand and cheese in the other!)

This chair ain’t big enough for both of us

Neither Sophia nor Hank was too interested in a photo op this morning, especially when I tried to pose both of them in the kid-sized chair.  There’s just not as much room as there used to be and Hank tried to escape as quickly as possible.

Dear Aunt Kelly, Hank loves you, too

Even I feel sorry for Hank when I look at this picture…
